TRADE AND
ENGAGEMENT

We will act on your behalf as a general insurance broker. At the start of our engagement,

  • Negotiate policy coverage and policy terms with any existing insurers and with
    alternative insurers.

  • Calculate, invoice, and collect the premiums.

  • Prepare policy wordings and obtain signed policies from insurers.

APPROACHING THE MARKET

We will seek quotes from the general insurance market before making a recommendation. We have arrangements with a wide range of national and international insurers and underwriters, which helps us find the right insurance product for you.

REMUNERATION

In return for the services we provide, we will receive a commission usually between 5% and 20% of the premium paid (excluding relevant taxes and levies) which is paid to us by the insurer and sometimes a fee, payable by you, the amount of any fee will always be disclosed to you on our invoices.

POLICY CANCELLATION

If a cover is cancelled before the expiry of the period of insurance, we reserve the right to refund to you only the net return premium we receive from the insurer and not refund any part of the brokerage and/or broker fee we receive for arranging the cover. A broker fee may be charged to process the cancellation.

PAYMENT TERMS

You are required to pay the insurance premiums to Woods Insurance Brokers within the time set out on our invoice.

We can arrange Premium funding which enable you to pay your premiums by installments. Premium funders do charge interest. We may also receive a commission based on a percentage of the premium from the premium funder.
